Founded in 2010 as HL Steam, the company rebranded to Ancoa in 2013.
Kurt Vandebroek was appointed CEO and Executive Director of Ancoa in April 2014. Kurt has an extensive track record in entrepreneurship and commercialising complex b2b software applications for capital markets technology. His leadership has set Ancoa on a fast-growth trajectory, earning praise from clients for being “light years ahead of the competition.” An experienced software entrepreneur, Kurt co-founded Trax in 2004, an innovative cash management solution which was acquired by SunGard Data Systems in October 2006. Kurt was appointed senior vice president at SunGard, responsible for the global business development and product management for SunGard’s Corporations business and the firm’s AvantGard EcoSystem Communication Service.
A frequent speaker at industry events on the topics of corporate payments, SWIFT and connectivity, Kurt started his career as a consultant in cash management and electronic banking for a large European bank with specialisation in electronic banking projects for multinational clients. He was later involved in numerous strategic international projects in the US and Europe. Kurt holds an MSc in Applied Computer Science from the University of Brussels (VUB) and a MSc in Business Engineering from the University of Hasselt in Belgium.
As Founder and Executive Director Stefan is responsible for the firm’s product strategy, marketing and business development. A proven entrepreneur with a strong focus on large scale, high performance financial and simulation software, Stefan channeled his passion for conceiving intuitive interfaces to the complexities of market surveillance and established Ancoa in 2010 with Andrew Louth.
Prior to establishing Ancoa, Stefan built his career as a software engineer and entrepreneur in high-performance, large-scale financial and scientific simulation software production. Most recently he held a senior position at Future Facilities, the datacentre simulation technology company, with responsibilities for design and implementation of technology products and business development. Stefan was founding director of Future Facilities’ Japanese office where the company became a major player. Previously, Stefan was a software engineer with London-based Flomerics, where he created advanced yet easy-to-use interfaces for blue-chip electronics industry clients. Stefan holds a Master of Science in Engineering from the Catholic University of Leuven in his native Belgium.
Johan Buyle has over 20 years of experience in various aspects of finance and private equity.
He has been involved in numerous transactional operations, as a senior manager for Acquisition Finance at Fortis Bank, and during several years as an investment manager at AlpInvest and at Fortis Private Equity. Since 2008 Johan is an independent advisor and investor who has been involved in various projects for family owned businesses, investors and corporate finance boutiques.
Johan is an active board member in a number of companies in various industries, both production and services. He holds a Master in Applied Economic Sciences from the University of Antwerp, Belgium.
